I recently had the pleasure of attending a sweet staff development training at the DSI Comedy Club in Carrboro. It was a refreshing spin on the typically uninteresting training where you listen to someone talk at you for two hours. The DSI Comedy Club is an improv theater that does three unique shows, three nights a week (Thurs, Fri, Sat). I was so taken by the staff development, I became an instant fan of the club and attended a benefit night with proceeds going to the Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate program in Chapel Hill. One of the shows an actor dubbed all the lines and sound effects of a silly children’s movie and another show featured actors acting out a story told by an impromptu guest speaker. It was a nice break from my course load and for the entire experience was very cheap. I highly recommend it if you are in the area.
